Award .jpgA multi-award-winning awareness campaign by Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance (CMCA) has scooped another accolade.

The Two Minutes of Chat and an Early Screening campaign – which used a BBC sitcom as the basis to promote discussion about screening and cancer symptoms – has won the Healthcare Campaign category in the north of England Prolific North Creative awards.

A joint team from CMCA with Vivid Everywhere, the digital marketing agency CMCA partnered with in the winning campaign, picked up the award at the ceremony in Manchester last night.

Two other CMCA campaigns were finalists in the awards, which champion creative and digital sectors across the North of England. Its campaign to promote bowel screening – Just A Tiny Bit Of Poo Could Be Lifesaving For You – was shortlisted in the Creative For Good Award, with Hitch Marketing, and the Listen To Your Body campaign, in a partnership with North West Cancer Research, was up for Best Collaboration.

The Two Minutes of Chat and an Early Screening campaign launched last summer and featured the stars of the cult BBC sitcom Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps. It ran across Halton, where the comedy series was set, and is due to be re-run from next week in Halton, St Helens and Warrington.

Two Pints actors Ralf Little and Will Mellor starred in videos and other publicity material for the campaign that also featured local people talking about cancer screening and reducing the fear of cancer. The campaign had already picked up one regional award and one national award.
