Patients and members of the public are being invited to a free event in Liverpool to explore how health research can become more inclusive, accessible and relevant to local communities.
Healthier Together Through Research will take place at The Liner Hotel in Liverpool on Thursday 17 September, from 9.30am to 3pm.
The event will give people the chance to learn more about health research, share their views and help influence how research is developed across Merseyside.
It is open to anyone who wants to understand more about research and how it can improve care for patients and communities. No previous experience or knowledge of research is needed.
Those attending will be able to take part in open and inclusive conversations about what research means, why it matters and how people can get involved. The aim is to build trust, reflect real-life experiences and ensure future research is shaped by the people it is intended to benefit.
Organisers say the day will be informal and welcoming, with opportunities for people to ask questions, share ideas and discuss what would make research easier to understand and take part in.
Travel costs can be reimbursed with a valid receipt. Attendees should speak to a member of the event team on the day for more information.
The event will be held at The Liner Hotel, Lord Nelson Street, Liverpool, L3 5QB. The venue is wheelchair accessible, with step-free access to all areas of the event.
Accessible parking is available at the hotel. If accessible spaces in the car park are full, additional accessible spaces will be available in the loading bay.
The venue is close to public transport links, with Liverpool Lime Street station around 200 metres away and Queen Square bus stops approximately 550 metres from the hotel.
A hearing loop system will be available, and quiet spaces will be provided for anyone who may need a break during the day.
Anyone with specific access requirements, including seating preferences, dietary needs or additional support, is asked to contact the organisers in advance on 0151 706 4863.
