Researchers at Liverpool’s cancer centre have been handed a share of over £5m to undertake more studies into the disease.

They will partner with other research bodies in the city to investigate new treatments for cancer and other health problems affecting people in Cheshire and Merseyside.

The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) has given £5.3m to the Liverpool Clinical Research Facility (CRF), which includes researchers at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust and Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
