A woman who was diagnosed with a brain tumour after noticing subtle symptoms says a new NHS-approved drug has 'changed her life' - and given hope to patients following the first major breakthrough in 20 years.

Jodie Goulbourn, 47, from St Helens, was told she had a walnut-sized grade 2 glioma - a type of cancerous brain tumour - in 2016 after struggling with vertigo, memory problems and forgetting words.

At The Christie Hospital, in Manchester, she was offered entry into the international INDIGO research study which trialled the new drug.

Jodie said: “I’m so happy to hear that it’s now been approved on the NHS. I was actually one of the last people in the UK to be put on the trial, so to know now that other people will be able to have it means the world to me,” she said.
