Lung Cancer Screening is returning to Wirral from next month - after finding tens of cancers over the past year.
The screening - formerly known as Targeted Lung Health Checks - rolled out in Wirral from last summer and now the mobile scanning unit is returning so more people can be checked.
People will be given an appointment for a check via test or a letter if they are elegible, with people aged 55 to 74 who smoke, or used to smoke, targeted for screening.
Wirral Council have promoted the checks by interviewing Mike Fortune, a Social Action Lead at One Wirral CIC, who is raising awareness of Lung Cancer Screening as part of his work, which is funded by Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance.
