Lung health checks are coming to Knowsley – and you can find out more about them at an information event tomorrow (Friday).
Eligible patients registered at a GP practice in Roby, Prescot, St Michaels, St Gabriel’s and Swanside wards are starting to receive their invitations to join the many residents who have already taken up the opportunity, when the mobile CT scanner visited Kirkby, Stockbridge and Page Moss.
People aged 55-74 years old who have a history of smoking are being invited to attend a lung health clinic.
After this appointment, patients may be offered a Chest CT Scan at a local hospital for further investigations, if required.
The checks can spot early signs of lung problems, including finding cancer early when it is easier to treat.
Residents wanting to find out more about the checks can meet the Lung Health Check team on Friday (July 29th) at Asda on Huyton Lane, Huyton, L36 7TX.
