Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance (CMCA) has published its latest Transformation Plan, setting out how it will continue working with partners to improve cancer services, care and outcomes for people across the region in 2026 and 2027.
The plan outlines the Alliance’s priorities for the year ahead, including work to support earlier diagnosis, reduce inequalities, improve patient experience, strengthen cancer pathways and help ensure services remain sustainable for the future.
It brings together programme plans for the Alliance’s main areas of work and includes detailed information on cancer across Cheshire and Merseyside, including data for each of the nine local Place areas.
The Cancer Alliance works with NHS organisations, local authorities, voluntary and community sector partners, patients and the public to help deliver better cancer outcomes. Its annual Transformation Plan describes the initiatives being taken forward to support the national ambitions for cancer and respond to local needs.
The 2026-27 plan follows continued progress in cancer detection and care across Cheshire and Merseyside, including improvements in early diagnosis and cancer waiting times in recent years. It also looks ahead to the challenges and opportunities facing cancer services, with a continued focus on collaboration, innovation and tackling variation in care.
