A Cheshire man has spoken about how being a non-smoker could have delayed his treatment for lung cancer.
Dave Marcus had a persistent cough for seven months before he got the "biggest shock of his life" when he was given a cancer diagnosis.
Dave, from Knutsford, needed to get a second opinion before the cancer was found and his story is one of several which has inspired a new lung cancer campaign.
Liverpool-based Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation has launched its Let Go of the Labels campaign for lung cancer awareness month, calling for a stop to terms like smoker and never-smoker.
Smoking is by far the biggest cause of lung cancer, however, Paula Chadwick, chief executive of Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, said: "Lung cancer is still so intrinsically linked to smoking but the reality is anyone can get this disease, regardless of if they have smoked or not."
