The Roadshow is designed to raise awareness of cancer, pass on information about signs and symptoms of the disease and answer questions you may have on treatment or care. You can chat to a nurse, have a free health test and get information leaflets.

Cancer Research UK says: “Every year, Cancer Research UK’s Cancer Awareness Roadshow sets off to talk to people about cancer. Our Cancer Awareness nurses chat to people about how small health changes can reduce their cancer risk, encourage them to know what’s normal for their body and give them confidence to go to the GP with any concerns.

“Spotting cancer early can make a real difference as treatment is more likely to be successful when cancer is diagnosed at an early stage. Our experienced nurses help thousands of people every year and so far we’ve reached over half a million people.”

People can also find out about local and national health services at the Widnes roadshow, which will at Widnes Road, WA8 6BA.

After Widnes, the Roadshow team will be in on Derby Road, in Huyton town centre, on April 19th and 20th (returning on August 8th to 10th and September 20th and 21st); Cherryfield Drive in Kirkby town centre on June 7th and 8th; and at Church Street, in Liverpool, on August 16th and 17th. The team will return to the same site in Widnes on September 6th and 7th.
