The Cancer Alliance’s digital training tackling health inequalities is set to launch online next month – with healthcare and public sector professionals from across the country expected to sign up.
Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance (CMCA) is inviting individuals and teams to the online virtual launch event of the free-to-access training, the 123 Approach – the first of its kind in the country.
The online launch of the CPD-accredited training is taking place on from 2pm to 3pm on November 5th, when people can find out all about the learning module and how to access it.
This event is for those who:
- Have an interest in health inequalities and patient experience
- Have a statutory responsibility to address health inequalities and want a straightforward way to achieve this
- Work with people living with and beyond cancer.
Jo Trask, CMCA Health Inequalities and Patient Involvement Lead, said: “Join the Cancer Alliance in celebrating the launch of its free-to-access training, which provides staff with the knowledge, skills and confidence to tackle health inequalities and improve patient experience across the cancer pathway.
“You will learn how to use the learning and free resources in your setting, hear from the patient and staff storytellers who were involved in its development, and be given the opportunity to ask questions with the 123 Approach team.”
Feedback from NHS managers who have already used the training, includes…
- “My team are working in a different way since the training, they have increased confidence to change things in our pathway, with big impact!”
- “The 123 Approach training takes the traditional style of sharing patient stories to the next level, breaking it down into not only real-life experiences but supporting learners to understand how health inequalities can creep into every aspect of a patient journey. Those who undertake it will click the 'end' button with a different perspective on cancer care and how they can help to bring more equality to cancer care.”
To attend, please email the 123 Approach team on ccf-tr.hipe@nhs.net and you will be sent a Teams link to the launch webinar. Email the same address if you have any questions.
