Sally Griffiths, from Wirral, is urging people to sign an online petition which calls for increased funding for services that help people give up tobacco.

Sally’s mum, Sybil, died at the age of 71 after smoking 20 cigarettes a day since she was 14.

Cancer Research UK estimates that smoking kills one person every 40 minutes in the North West and is calling on the Government to set up a ‘Smokefree Fund’ to pay for more anti-smoking support.

Sally has signed the charity’s petition, which you can read here: Help tackle the biggest cause of cancer (cancerresearchuk.org)
