The police are used to detecting crime – but now they have been recruited to help detect cancer.

Police officers are the latest group of people to be given awareness training to help spot the signs and symptoms of the disease.

Over the past few months, more than 50 police officers and Police Community Support Officers have been given the training in Warrington so they can relay these vital health messages to the public.

Warrington CCG has carried out the training to Cheshire Police which covers the importance of screening and early detection
