Food Active_RGB.pngA ground-breaking initiative to tackle excess weight in the population of Cheshire and Merseyside is the focus of a blog celebrating Cancer Prevention Action Week.

The blog by Food Active, a healthy weight programme organisation, details Chesthire and Merseyside Cancer Allaince’s project to cut the number of people living with obesity and so lessen their chances of developing cancer.

The project, managed by Health Equalities Group (HEG), aims to bring together stakeholders across Cheshire and Merseyside to tackle obesity to create projects to lessen the prevalence of overweight and obesity.

The blog includes an interview with CMCA Senior Project Manager Steve Jones, who commissioned the initiative.
