A world-first exhibition looking at the history and advancements made in cancer treatment and care, whilst weaving in lots of human experiences throughout, is being staged at a museum in Manchester.
From busting myths about the causes of cancer and revealing how the disease is not unique to humans, to exploring how technology is advancing cancer care, Cancer Revolution: Science, Innovation And Hope reveals the past, present and future of how cancer is prevented, detected and treated.
At the exhibition in the Science and Industry Museum you can find out how cancer has been treated over the centuries, from high-risk surgeries to the discovery of the first chemotherapy drugs.
You can also discover the stories of people living with, treating, and affected by cancer today, and how researchers, clinicians, policymakers and patients are fuelling progress in a powerful expression of shared hope.
The major exhibition, which is running until next March, has been designed in collaboration with the museum group and funding from Cancer Research UK, Pfizer, QIAGEN and Redx Pharma Plc.
