One of Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance’s patient ambassadors has been raising awareness of prostate cancer by telling his story in Men's Health Awareness Month.

Mike Crowe has been featured in national media reliving his experience of being diagnosed with prostate cancer – and urging men not to ignore warning signs of the disease.

Mike, aged 62, was diagnosed with prostate cancer after his sister, a nurse, advised him to get checked out.

He had surgery and because the cancer was caught early and had not spread, he has made a full recovery.

Mike, who lives in Liverpool, said: “I never drank or smoked and in my head there was nothing I could have done better to prevent this.”

He is now urging men to contact their GP to discuss their risk of getting prostate cancer as it can be present without symptoms.
