A team from Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance (CMCA) has made contributions to learning after being engaged by professional bodies.
The Health Inequalities and Patient Experience (HIPE) team was invited to talk about their work by the Royal College of Physicians after being named as runners up in its Eric Watts award earlier this year.
The award recognises individual healthcare workers and teams who have made an extraordinary contribution to improving the patient experience and the CMCA’s HIPE team recently took part in a video discussion about their work.
The video discusses the Cancer Alliance’s Readers’ Panel, which adds patient voices into the creation of written materials used for cancer patients and also helps to shape cancer services across the region.
The team also contributed to a national report by the Patients’ Association, a charity dedicated to supporting the rights and interests of all patients and their families.
The report is designed to help improve improving health equity for patients living with cancer and/or blood disorders and the team was asked about their experience of working with patients to address barriers faced when accessing healthcare services.
